Job summary

ModernControls seeks an Assistant Project Manager – Mechanical to support the execution of commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and controls projects. You will coordinate with field teams, vendors, and customers to maintain schedules, budgets, and documentation while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role collaborates with Project Managers, estimators, and other stakeholders to ensure projects finish safely, on time, and within contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination, scheduling, and execution.
• Track project budgets, labor hours, material costs, and overall progress.
• Coordinate with field supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, and customers.
• Assist with purchase orders, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
• Monitor project milestones and communicate potential delays or concerns.
• Support material procurement and equipment delivery coordination.
• Participate in project meetings and site visits.
• Ensure project activities follow safety policies and quality standards.
• Assist with project closeout documentation and customer turnover.
