Job summary

Comfort Systems USA seeks an Assistant Mechanical Project Manager in High Point, NC to support HVAC, piping, and mechanical construction projects across NC, SC, and VA. You will work with experienced PMs to help coordinate schedules, documentation, and cost tracking, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in mechanical construction or related roles, a relevant bachelor’s degree, familiarity with Procore/Bluebeam, and a willingness to travel the

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical construction, HVAC, piping, or project coordination.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management or 5+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Familiarity with construction cost tracking, schedules, and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Support Mechanical Project Managers with day-to-day coordination, scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
• Assist with handoffs from estimating and organize contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Review bills of materials for piping, panels, structural steel, and other mechanical components.
• Assist with material takeoffs, vendor quotes, purchasing coordination, and long-lead equipment tracking.
• Prepare and manage submittals, logs, and schedule requirements.
• Coordinate with production teams to monitor fabrication progress and ensure timely releases.
• Help track project costs, change orders, and cost reporting.
• Assemble operating and maintenance manuals and closeout documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and communicate updates.
