National Mechanical & Design is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead mechanical scopes from post-design through construction and startup in the St. Louis area.

You will own project execution, review bids, and coordinate with vendors to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with contract documents. The role requires 3–5+ years in mechanical construction and a strong knowledge of MEPS, HVAC, piping, and procurement.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of project management experience in mechanical construction, MEP, HVAC, piping, or related commercial/industrial project environments.
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, construction processes, and equipment procurement.
• Ability to review bids, submittals, and installation work.
• Experience coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly responsive, communicative, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of project execution.
• Proficiency with construction/project management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Ability to travel to project sites nationwide as needed.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of mechanical scopes from post-design through construction and startup.
• Review subcontractor bids and proposals to confirm scope completeness, identify gaps, and ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Review mechanical submittals and shop drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contract documents.
• Track equipment procurement, submittals, and fabrication status to ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to resolve issues and prevent schedule impacts.
• Visit project sites as needed to verify installations align with design intent, plans, and company quality standards.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders throughout the construction phase.
• Coordinate with internal teams, field personnel, and project stakeholders keep projects moving efficiently.
