Job summary

National Mechanical Services, Inc. in St. Louis (Richmond Heights) is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to own mechanical scopes from post-design through construction and startup, coordinating with engineers, vendors, and field teams.

You will review bids, submittals, and shop drawings, track procurement, manage RFIs and changes, and travel nationwide as needed. We offer strong benefits including ESOP, 401k, tuition reimbursement, and generous vacation.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of project management experience in mechanical construction, MEP, HVAC, piping, or related environments.
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, construction processes, and equipment procurement.
• Ability to review bids, submittals, and installation work.
• Experience coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with construction/project management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project preferred.
• Willingness to travel nationwide as needed.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of mechanical scopes from post-design through construction and startup.
• Review subcontractor bids and proposals to confirm scope completeness and alignment with requirements.
• Review mechanical submittals and shop drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Track equipment procurement, submittals, and fabrication status for timely delivery.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to resolve issues and prevent schedule impacts.
• Visit project sites to verify installations meet design intent and quality standards.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders during construction.
• Coordinate with internal teams, field personnel, and project stakeholders to keep projects moving.
• Participate in project meetings and provide status updates on risks and next steps.
• Support field quality control and assist with inspections; help with preconstruction and estimating when needed.
