Job summary

Shambaugh & Son, L.P. is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to pre-plan and manage Mission Critical / Data Center construction projects. When this work is unavailable, you will work on hospital, healthcare, and other construction projects.

The role requires ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to spec. The candidate will review mechanical systems, coordinate with subcontractors, and manage logs, schedules, and safety on site.

Qualifications

• Five years of Project Management or Project Engineering experience preferred.
• Experience managing $1–5 million projects.
• Knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Experience monitoring labor performance and tracking progress.
• Ability to read plans for ordering material and estimating change orders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date change order, subcontractor, RFI, and contingency logs.
• Review mechanical drawings and specifications for inconsistencies and plan comprehension.
• Prepare, review, approve, and submit material and equipment submittals.
• Manage sub-contractors to ensure on-time, compliant installations.
• Attend project coordination meetings to keep work on plan and on time.
• Walk the site with stakeholders to ensure design compliance and remediation as needed.
• Track equipment deliveries and assist with installations and startup.
• Participate in job tracking, manpower use, and earned value reporting.
• Submit accurate estimates and change order quotations timely.
• Communicate with purchasing, subcontractors, and fabrication shops for scope and price.
• Promote and enforce a safe working environment.
• Satisfy customer needs to develop repeat business.
