Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager – Data Center Construction with field experience to oversee GC activities and report schedule status to the owner. The ideal candidate will bring deep field expertise from large-scale data center environments and strong leadership skills.

The role emphasizes cost control, constructability guidance, and collaboration with owners, architects, and regional stakeholders on complex projects. On-site presence is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of electrical project management experience, ideally in data center construction or with an electrical contractor.
• Experience with substation and power distribution systems preferred.
• Familiarity with MEP design.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and construction methodologies.
• Proficiency in the Data Center Commissioning Process (levels 1–5).
• Proficiency managing construction documents including BODs, specifications, contract drawings, C/D/E’s, equipment submittals and RFIs.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, P6, CxAlloy, and other construction project management tools

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage and collaborate with project stakeholders.
• Communicate across the internal team to ensure efficient client delivery.
• Analyze, track and manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slips.
• Ensure governance, processes and systems are applied on projects.
• Produce formal project status reports and other required reports.
• Monitor progress of multiple construction projects to apply design standards correctly.
• Manage interface between suppliers via monthly trackers and weekly reviews.
• Provide technical support to owners, architects, GCs and regional stakeholders.
• Respond rapidly to RFIs from the field.
• Offer cost control, value engineering and constructability guidance.
• Review status reports, drawings, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers.
• Develop excellent client relationships to maximize new opportunities.
• Provide strategic input to help achieve client and business objectives.
• Capture key learnings from each project to improve processes.
