Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager for a high-profile data center construction project. This role oversees the General Contractor’s activities, ensuring schedule adherence and robust reporting to the project owner.

The ideal candidate has field leadership experience in large-scale data center or electrical contracting environments. You will collaborate with owners, architects, and regional stakeholders, manage RFIs, subs, and cost control, and apply best practices to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of electrical project management experience, ideally in data center construction or with an electrical contractor.
• Experience with substation and power distribution systems preferred.
• Familiarity with MEP design.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools.
• Knowledge of codes, standards, and construction methodologies.
• Proficiency in the Data Center Commissioning Process (levels 1–5).
• Proficiency managing construction documents including submittals and RFIs.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, P6, CxAlloy, and other PM tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the General Contractor’s construction activities.
• Report schedule status back to the project owner.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and internal teams.
• Analyze and manage critical milestone activities to avoid delays.
• Ensure governance, processes and systems are applied on projects.
• Produce formal project status reports and other required reports.
• Monitor multiple projects to ensure design standards are applied correctly.
• Forecast and update key project milestones and cost information.
• Provide technical support to owners, architects, and contractors.
