Job summary

Turner & Townsend seeks a Mechanical Project Manager with field experience to oversee data center construction. You will manage the General Contractor’s activities and report schedule status to the project owner, leveraging deep field expertise and strong leadership.

The role emphasizes governance, cost control, and constructability guidance across multi-disciplinary teams, with on-site presence required as client needs evolve. An engineering or construction background is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in mechanical engineering or construction management.
• Experience managing electrical projects, preferably in data centers.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage and collaborate with project stakeholders.
• Maintain effective communication across internal teams to ensure consistent delivery to the client.
• Analyze, track, and manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slips.
• Verify that project governance, processes and systems are utilized.
• Ensure application of best practice on all projects.
• Produce formal project status reports and other required reports.
• Monitor progress of multiple construction projects to ensure design standards are applied.
• Manage interface between suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.
• Coordinate project information flow through regular meetings and written communications.
• Forecast and update key project milestones.
• Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders.
• Respond rapidly to RFIs from the field.
• Offer cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance when needed.
• Independently review status reports, drawings, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers.
• Assist in developing relationships with clients to maximize new opportunities.
• Provide strategic advice to project teams to meet client and business objectives.
• Capture key learnings from each project for knowledge management.
• Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes.
