Job summary

ARCO National Construction Company in St. Louis (Richmond Heights) seeks a Mechanical Project Manager to own mechanical scopes from post-design to start-up.

You will coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure schedule and quality objectives are met across multiple projects. The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years in mechanical construction, strong knowledge of mechanical systems, and experience with Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of project management experience in mechanical construction, MEP, HVAC, piping, or related environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, construction processes, and equipment procurement.
  • Ability to review bids, submittals, and installation work.
  • Experience coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly responsive, communicative, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of project execution.
  • Proficiency with construction/project management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of mechanical scopes from post-design through construction and startup.
  • Review subcontractor bids and proposals to confirm scope completeness, identify gaps, and ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Review mechanical submittals and shop drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contract documents.
  • Track equipment procurement, submittals, and fabrication status to ensure timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to resolve issues and prevent schedule impacts.
  • Visit project sites to verify installations align with design intent, plans, and quality standards.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders throughout the construction phase.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, field personnel, and project stakeholders to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates on status, risks, and next steps for mechanical scopes.
  • Support field quality control and assist with inspections to ensure proper installation.
  • Assist with preconstruction and estimating efforts as needed.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organization and attention to detail.

A Day In The Life
  • Take ownership of mechanical scopes from post-design through construction and startup
  • Review subcontractor bids and proposals to confirm scope completeness, identify gaps, and ensure alignment with project requirements
  • Review mechanical submittals and shop drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contract documents
  • Track equipment procurement, submittals, and fabrication status to ensure timely delivery
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to resolve issues and prevent schedule impacts

Necessary Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Ability to travel to project sites nationwide as needed
