We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee mechanical construction projects from initial planning through successful completion. This position is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and at expected profitability levels.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects in industrial, manufacturing, process, or other complex mechanical construction environments. Candidates with backgrounds in process piping, HVAC, plumbing, MEP, or industrial mechanical systems are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical construction projects from planning through completion
- Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules and overall execution plans
- Coordinate field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments
- Monitor project costs, productivity, labor, purchasing, and overall profitability
- Protect project scope and manage change orders and additional work
- Provide regular cost projections and project progress updates
- Coordinate BIM/CAD, prefabrication, purchasing, and procurement activities
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, project documentation, and other administrative requirements
- Manage and oversee subcontractors throughout project execution
- Work with estimating to develop proposals for change orders and smaller projects
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, engineering firms, and other project stakeholders
- Ensure project billing and documentation are accurate and completed on time
- Ensure safety, quality, and production standards are maintained throughout each project
- Provide leadership and direction to project supervisors and field crews
- Travel to customer locations, job sites, meetings, and company offices as required
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction management or project management experience preferred
- Working knowledge of the mechanical construction industry
- Experience with industrial or manufacturing construction projects strongly preferred
- Experience with process piping, HVAC, plumbing, MEP, or related mechanical systems is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, change orders, and project documentation
- Ability to effectively coordinate field crews, subcontractors, customers, and internal teams
- Strong communication, organization, planning, and leadership skills
- Proficiency with computers and construction/project management software
- Related bachelor's degree preferred but not required with relevant industry experience
Strong Project Engineers or Assistant Project Managers with significant mechanical construction experience who are ready to take the next step into full project ownership will also be considered.
