Job summary

Cumming Gallagher is looking for a Mechanical Project Inspector in Houston to lead quality control on healthcare facilities. You will inspect materials, layouts, and workmanship on site, coordinate with the CCM and owner, and oversee QC testing.

Strong documentation and communication are essential. Required are a related bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience with ICC mechanical codes; CMIs or state inspector certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, mechanical engineering or related field preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience with ICC codes, specifically mechanical, and state ICC mechanical codes.
• Certification such as CMI or state mechanical inspector is preferred.
• Experience in healthcare construction is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect materials, installation, and layout on project sites and assess acceptability.
• Notify contractor of unacceptable work with CCM approval.
• Serve as liaison between CCM, operations, owner and contractor.
• Perform or supervise quality control testing.
• Maintain thorough records including daily logs, progress updates, and findings.
• Verify quantities for contractors’ monthly pay estimates.
• Attend work during normal business hours.
