Job summary

BEUMER Group is seeking a Project Mechanical Engineer to develop specifications, 3D models, and drawings for airport baggage handling equipment. This hands-on role requires strong technical, organizational, and communication skills and reports to the BEUMER Group Office in Greenwood Village, CO.

The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background, 2–4 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit a plus).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing and project engineering environments.
• Preferred experience in automated machinery and material handling capital equipment.
• Broad technical background across machine technologies, including controls and electrical systems (preferred).
• Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD; experience with Revit is a plus.
• Strong technical writing skills with clear documentation.
• Willingness to travel to project sites up to 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Provide drafting and design expertise to create 3D models and production equipment.
• Assist Sales with engineering and design input for equipment proposals.
• Evaluate manufacturing feasibility and estimate cost requirements for material handling systems.
• Design layouts and components in 2D/3D CAD, optimizing for cost and manufacturability.
• Document designs in the corporate database and support engineering processes.
• Prepare equipment specifications and coordinate with procurement for quotation and release.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure designs are manufacturing-ready.
