Job summary

Vanderlande in Marietta, GA, seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer I to support large North American parcel programs within the RMR team. You will balance design, coordination with electrical/controls teams, and on-site execution to meet project goals.

Responsibilities include translating drawings into proposals, developing 3D models, producing layout drawings, and performing space analyses while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Domestic travel is common.

Qualifications

• Ability to translate concepts into detailed mechanical designs.
• Experience with design coordination across multiple disciplines.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 33%, with some international travel.
• Experience with project planning and deliverables tracking.

Responsibilities

• Translate sales drawings into a fully functional mechanical system description for RfP development.
• Optimize functionality from as-sold concept within budget with other disciplines.
• Develop 3D models and manage clash detection.
• Produce 2D customer approval drawings and installation layouts.
• Perform spatial analysis for clearances and forklift aisles.
• Check systems against vendor submissions and safety/ergonomic standards.
• Create motor manifests with electrical/controls requirements; document decisions.
• Travel to project sites for site surveys and support installation/commissioning.
• Maintain project documentation in a rights-based database.
