Job summary

Vanderlande is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to join the RMR team in Marietta, GA. You will translate sales drawings into full mechanical system descriptions for RfP development, and develop 3D models while coordinating with Electrical, Controls, and Installation teams.

The role requires 5+ years of ME experience, proficiency with AutoCAD and Autodesk tools, and the ability to travel up to 33% domestically. We value collaboration, problem-solving, and proactive project leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or ME Tech.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience (or 8 years with an Associate degree).
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 33%, with occasional international travel opportunities.
• Ability to translate concepts into detailed designs and manage projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D/3D and Autodesk suite; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate sales drawings and specifications into a fully functional mechanical system description for RfP development.
• Optimize functionality from as-sold concept into a working mechanical design within budget with other disciplines.
• Develop 3D models and manage clash detection.
• Create 2D customer approval drawings and installation layout drawings.
• Perform spatial analysis for clearance envelopes, egress pathways, and forklift aisles.
• Engineer non-standard mechanical interfaces and ensure safety/ergonomic compliance.
• Create motor manifests with electrical/controls requirements; document decisions for site teams.
• Travel to project sites for site surveys and support installation and commissioning from Marietta office.
