University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. in Anaheim, CA is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer for a full-time, on-site role.

The position emphasizes BIM capabilities, design/build services, and complex mechanical installations in commercial HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and about 3 years of construction project engineering experience, with proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and related tools.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience with project estimation, scheduling, and submittals is desirable.
  • Exposure to HVAC design and construction processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Project Estimating (Take-Off & Analysis).
  • Project Scheduling (Manpower scheduling).
  • Manage RFIs (Requests for Information).
  • Prepare Submittal Packages.
  • Manage flow of contractor provided submittal data.
  • Assist in data population of forms.
  • Prepare Project Progress Billings.
  • Assist in Technical Analysis, Trouble shooting, and problem solving of HVAC Air Equipment, HVAC Piping Equipment Systems, HVAC & Plumbing Equipment.

Job Summary

University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. is currently seeking individuals for a full-time position as a Mechanical Project Engineer located in our Anaheim, CA area. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Project Estimating (Take-Off & Analysis)
  • Project Scheduling (Manpower scheduling)
  • Manage RFIs (Requests for Information)
  • Prepare Submittal Packages

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Recommended that the candidate have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3 years industry experience as a Construction Project Engineer.

  • Basic working knowledge HVAC & Plumbing Design & System Operation
  • Basic working knowledge of Commercial & Industrial construction sequences
  • Basic working knowledge of construction estimating
  • Basic working knowledge of testing procedures for HVAC systems.
  • Basic working knowledge of ASHRAE data & guidelines
  • Average proficiency with MS Project scheduling program
  • Average proficiency with MS Access or other database programs
  • Above average proficiency with MS Excel & Word
  • Above average proficiency with Internet
  • Above average verbal & writing skills
  • Above average organizational skills in handling & archiving technical data

Candidate should be able to demonstrate experience with project administration, project scheduling, productivity analysis, project cost control accounting, plus equipment & material procurement.

Compensation Range: $66,560 to $90,000.
