Job Title: Mechanical Production Supervisor
Job Summary: The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising lead hands and shop floor employees to ensure production runs smoothly, safely, and on schedule. This role requires effective communication between shifts, progress reporting, problem‑solving, and collaboration with the Drawing Release team to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication. The Mechanical Supervisor also helps maintain an organized and safe shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, organize, and supervise lead hands and shop floor employees to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor production schedules, report delays or issues, and provide clear instructions for the next shift.
- Verify that employees use the latest drawings and coordinate with the Drawing Release team for accuracy.
- Ensure production meets AVL quality standards and customer requirements.
- Track attendance, maintain daily reports, and manage personnel actions (hiring, termination, promotions).
- Identify missing materials and report to managers in advance.
- Provide technical guidance and assist with troubleshooting production issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop floor.
- Promote a positive work environment and ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Report daily progress updates to management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.
Important Skills Set looking for
- Leadership/Supervisory Experience – leading, organizing, and supervising.
- Preferred Manufacturing/Industrial Experience.
- Technical expertise on the floor and assist with troubleshooting production issues.
- Experience in coordination with the Drawing Release team to ensure accuracy in assembly and fabrication – for the Shop floor team.
