Job summary

Daimler Truck North America LLC in Portland, Oregon, is seeking a Product Engineer II to develop cab mount systems, improve ride and durability, and lead cross-functional collaboration across validation, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and suppliers.

You’ll design, validate, and document components using CAD tools, while contributing to continuous improvement and product robustness in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or 6 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills (root cause analysis/8D).
• Effective written and verbal communication and teamwork.
• Demonstrated CAD expertise (NX or similar).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop cab mount systems and components for ride, NVH, and durability.
• Create system requirements, specifications, and validation plans for cab mounting.
• Collaborate with validation, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Review drawings and data to ensure compliance with standards.
• Create and maintain 3D and 2D drawings, GD&T, packaging studies, and installation diagrams.
