Job summary

Proteinea in the United States is seeking an experienced Mechanical Procurement Team Leader to guide procurement activities for mechanical works across industrial, infrastructure, and contracting projects.

You will lead the Mechanical Procurement team, drive supplier negotiations, review technical documentation, and coordinate with technical and project teams to ensure timely delivery and optimized costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience leading procurement activities for mechanical works.
• Strong negotiation and cost-analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Mechanical Procurement team, ensuring efficient and timely procurement activities.
• Develop procurement strategies aligned with project requirements, budgets, and schedules.
• Review BOQs, specifications, drawings, and material requirements to identify procurement needs.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors to secure competitive prices and favorable terms.
• Manage the procurement cycle from RFQ and quotation evaluation through negotiation, purchase orders, and delivery.
• Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of supplier offers in coordination with relevant teams.
• Coordinate with Technical, Commercial, Planning, and Project teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery.
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times, quality, and delivery schedules.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance with project specifications.
• Resolve procurement and supply-chain issues and ensure uninterrupted project execution.
• Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and strategic vendors.
• Monitor procurement KPIs and provide guidance and support to Procurement Engineers and Buyers.
