Job summary

Proteinea is seeking a Procurement Mechanical Engineer to source, evaluate, and purchase mechanical equipment, materials, and services for projects. You will ensure items meet specs, quality, timelines, and budgets.

You will identify suppliers, review drawings, maintain vendor relationships, and prepare POs and contracts. Collaboration with Engineering, Tender, Planning, Finance, and Supply Chain will be essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6-9 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or mechanical engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment (pumps, valves, compressors, piping, HVAC, rotating/static equipment, etc.).
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for mechanical equipment and components.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and datasheets to ensure purchased items comply with engineering and project requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and contractors.
• Prepare purchase orders (POs), commercial contracts, and procurement documentation.
• Monitor project budgets and ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Coordinate with Engineering Teams, Tender, Planning, Finance, and Supply Chain.
