Job summary

SE&M Mechanical & Plumbing Construction Division in North Carolina seeks a project coordinator who will support PMs and help manage safety, quality, and efficiency on mechanical and plumbing projects.

You will assist with procurement, document control, and coordination with field teams, design partners, and subcontractors. Growth into a senior PM role is encouraged.

This role requires a high school diploma, strong communication, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency reading technical drawings, blueprints, and specs.
  • Familiarity with Trimble/Quote Soft estimating software or ability to learn quickly.
  • Basic understanding of NC Mechanical & Plumbing Codes and industry standards.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong desire to learn and advance into a senior project management role.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager (PM) in oversight and coordination of safety, quality, and efficiency for Mechanical & Plumbing Construction Division projects.
  • Assist with procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracts to meet project specs.
  • Conduct regular quality control walk-downs and safety audits on assigned projects.
  • Forecast project costs and manpower in coordination with PM.
  • Attend weekly SE&M Mechanical & Plumbing Construction Division manpower meetings to discuss needs.
  • Manage submittals, RFIs, drawings, correspondence, and change orders for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate and track rental equipment on the jobsite.
  • Maintain all project records and ensure documentation is secure.
  • Develop positive client/vendor relationships while ensuring contractual compliance.
  • Provide leadership and support to field teams.
  • Attend job-site weekly meetings for assigned projects.
  • Monitor regulatory standards and company safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other departments and company divisions.
