Job summary

MDU Construction Services Group, Inc. is seeking a motivated assistant with a strong foundation in mechanical and plumbing construction to support project managers in Raleigh, NC.

You will help oversee safety, quality, and efficiency across projects and coordinate with field teams. Ideal candidates possess a high school diploma, keen reading of technical drawings, and familiarity with Trimble/QuoteSoft estimating tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints and specs.
• Familiar with Trimble and Quote Soft estimating software.
• Basic knowledge of NC mechanical and plumbing codes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Interested in advancing to a senior project management role.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in overseeing safety, quality, and efficiency for assigned projects.
• Support procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracts as needed.
• Conduct quality control walk-throughs and safety audits.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to forecast costs and manpower.
• Attend weekly manpower meetings to plan future weeks.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, drawings, and change orders for projects.
• Track rental equipment on the jobsite and maintain records.
• Develop relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Collaborate with other departments and divisions.
