Job summary

Eaton County is seeking a Mechanical and Plumbing Inspector to enforce the Eaton County Mechanical and Plumbing Codes, review plans, and inspect construction sites. The role involves handling code violations, responding to inquiries, and supporting the Prosecutor and Board of Appeals as needed.

Qualified candidates will be registered inspectors in Michigan or eligible for provisional registration, possess a valid MI driver's license, and have relevant inspection experience.

Qualifications

• Must be registered as Mechanical & Plumbing Inspector in Michigan.
• Capable of provisional registration as Inspector and Plan Reviewer.
• Valid Michigan driver's license.
• One year experience as Inspector preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical and plumbing construction for compliance with Eaton County Codes.
• Review plans for proposed projects to verify code compliance.
• Process correction notices/violations and issue stop work orders as needed.
