Stinson LLP is seeking an experienced patent agent to join the patent prosecution group within the Intellectual Property and Technology Division. The role focuses on drafting and prosecuting U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
• Registration with the USPTO.
• Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Experience managing patent prosecution docket with ownership of applications.
• Ability to collaborate with partners, admins, patent paralegals, and docketing staff.
• Law firm or in-house IP experience.

Responsibilities

• Draft and globally prosecute patent applications.
• Coordinate foreign filings with law firms and associates.
• Coordinate with clients on processing and legalization of filings.
• Review country requirements and obtain Foreign Filing License as needed.
• Maintain client patent portfolios and track deadlines.
• Notify clients of upcoming deadlines and billing matters.
• Communicate with foreign firms on filings, deadlines, and billings.
• Anticipate needs of supervising partners and clients.
• Delegate work appropriately to paralegals and admins.
• Meet annual billable hour target of 1650 hours.
