Job summary

Kimball Electronics Jasper is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to review processes, interface with customers and production teams, and support ISO/QS compliance. You will drive DFx, oversee EC changes, and partner with quality to define PFMEA and control plans.

Qualifications

• Preferred 4-year degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
• 2-year technical degree with 3-5 years hands-on experience in related industry.
• Lean Six Sigma approach (Green Belt level).
• Strong Computer Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab).
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment (SMT, Through-hole, box-build, simulation, packaging).
• Ability to read and understand complex specifications.
• Strong mechanical and electronics knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving techniques and processes.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• IPC 610/J-STD-001 Certification, or the ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Reviews customer documentation and determines process/flow and equipment/tooling requirements.
• Direct interface with customers and production teams.
• Establishing and maintaining overall Manufacturing Engineering support to meet Kimball Jasper/Group and its customer's requirements.
• Ensure all ISO and QS procedures are followed, and that failure analyses, RMAs and corrective actions are addressed, consistent with timing expectations.
• Drive DFx activities and provide feedback to customers.
• Review and oversee EC (Engineering Change) implementation.
• Review all manufacturing documentation with engineering team.
• Work directly with the quality team to define PFMEA’s, Control plans and assist with PPAP data packages.
• Ownership of equipment characterization, validation and qualification activities.
• Ensures the effective use of material, equipment and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs and support the development of quotations in response to our customer’s RFQs
