Kimball Electronics in Jasper, IN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements, DFx activities, and equipment qualification. You will partner with customers and production teams to ensure ISO/QS procedures are followed and PFMEA/Control plans are in place.
Ideal candidates have a 4-year engineering degree or a 2-year technical degree with 3–5 years hands-on experience, plus Green Belt Lean Six Sigma and strong knowledge of SMT, box-build, and related processes.

Short Term to Midterm: (0 to 3 months) Learn Kimball Jasper systems and controls by reviewing existing applicable processes, SOPs, quality systems, and work instructions by the end of the third month. Complete On the job training form including traceability system introduction, PAIs, ECO/Deviation process, Continual Improvements, and so forth. Will be completed by the end of month three.
Midterm: (3 to 6 months) Understand and apply the processes applicable to ME role. Assess current state production methods and equipment. Determine course of action to improve manufacturing processes and tools that are critical to the mission. Provide technical leadership to the Customer Teams. Implement Lean and ergonomic manufacturing lines. Provide monthly report out of accomplishments.
Long-term: (6 to >12 months) Provide strategic planning for manufacturing cell processes and capabilities. Lead the development of the manufacturing assembly area and equipment layout. Collaborate with Kimball Jasper Customer Teams, other Kimball sites, suppliers, etc. to develop best practices. Collaborate with Kimball Jasper DfX group to develop and continuously improve design for manufacturing guidelines that incorporate manufacturing requirements.
