Job summary

Schaeffler Group USA Inc. in Fort Mill, SC, seeks a maintenance technician to maintain, repair, install and set up mechanical equipment, contribute to maintenance planning and execute assignments to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with extensive field experience; ability to read blueprints and operate complex machinery; and the physical ability to lift heavy objects. You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

• Execute ramp up, setup and start procedures to prepare machines for operations.
• Contribute to installation projects on site and support Industrial Engineers.
• Support compliance of technical documentation for processes and equipment.
• Follow safety and PPE rules at all times.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, install and set up mechanical equipment, machines, tools or parts
• Contribute to planning of maintenance schedules and execute respective maintenance assignments
• Analyze technical issues, complete repairs and work orders with reference to electrical systems
• Execute ramp up, setup and start procedures in order to prepare machines and equipment for operations
• Contribute to installation projects on site, and support accountable Industrial Engineers
• Support compliance of technical documentations for processes and equipment
• Follow all safety and production rules and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

Your Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent combined with extensive work experience in this field
• Ability to use instruments for measuring and to identify defects
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, understand instructions and write clear communications in English
• Ability to understand and operate complex machinery
• Good visual acuity
• Ability to lift heavy objects if required
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship

Preferred:

• College or University degree in a technical discipline
• Multiple years of experience operating and handling complex machinery in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working with power tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
