Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician III to install, maintain, and repair mechanical components in a water treatment plant or pumping station. You will work with hand tools and machine shop equipment, and may supervise lower-level technicians.

Position requires four years of mechanical maintenance experience and a high school diploma or GED. A Maryland Class C license is required, with Class B CDL possible.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
• Experience: Four years of mechanical maintenance and repair work.
• Licenses: Maryland Class C Noncommercial license or equivalent; Class B CDL may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of hand tools and machine shop equipment.
• Maintain, repair, and install mechanical components in water treatment plants or pumping stations.
• Provide work direction to lower-level technicians.
• Work with moderate supervision and be prepared for 24-hour callback for emergencies.
