The Joseph \"Eddie\" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility located inbeautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence,preserving dignity and providing compassionate care.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated, energetic Mechanical Maintenance and Operations Tech I. Skills andexpectations for this position include but are not limited to:

• Performs the work of employees in the maintenance and operation of air conditioning, heating,refrigeration, ventilation, electrical systems and associated equipment
• Repairs and maintains electrical, plumbing and sewerage operations.
• Inspects and checks for the working performance of equipment.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: NONE

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of experience in the maintenance or repair of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, or electrical systems.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.

Working Conditions

May be required to take care of emergency repairs twenty-four hours a day.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
