Job summary

Gilbert Mechanical is seeking a Mechanical Intern to support our project management team and gain hands‑on experience in commercial mechanical construction. This role provides exposure to HVAC, plumbing, and piping projects while working alongside project managers, estimators, engineers, and field personnel.

You will assist with planning, reviewing drawings, and documentation, and you will develop leadership and organizational skills in a fast‑paced, in-office environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with the planning and coordination of construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Support estimating efforts with takeoffs and cost analysis.
• Help track project schedules, materials, budgets, and documentation.
• Attend job walks, project meetings, and site visits.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project correspondence.
• Support project teams in maintaining safety and quality standards.
