Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Mechanical/Interior Design Engineer for the Dallas Service Center (Love Field). You will design and modify interior and structural components, prepare drawings and specifications, and coordinate with suppliers and regulators to support certification.

The role requires 5+ years of aviation mechanical design experience and a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, with proficiency in AutoCAD, CATIA, and NX, plus FAA/EASA/TCCA knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of mechanical design experience in aviation.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D drafting/modeling software (AutoCAD, CATIA, NX).
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of FAA, EASA, and TCCA certification rules.
  • Familiarity with electrical wiring diagrams and wire routings.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare drawings and documents for interior and structural modification of Bombardier aircraft.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, internal departments and regulatory agencies regarding design, installation, integration, and certification of interior components.
  • Research specifications for component selection and ensure specifications are met.
  • Support statement of work creation and bids for new customer requests.
  • Assist service center personnel in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolution of build/modification and test issues.
  • Work in a team environment.

What are your contributions to the team?
  • Prepare all necessary documents to support the interior and structural modification of Bombardier aircraft such as detail, assembly and installation drawings, specification documents and substantiation reports.
  • Coordinate with outside suppliers, internal departments and regulatory agencies regarding the design, installation, integration, and certification of new interior components to support floorplan changes.
  • Research specifications for component selection. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure specifications are met.
  • Support statement of work creation and bids for new customer requests.
  • Assist service center personnel in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolution of build/modification and test issues and create deviation drawings as required.
  • Work in a team environment.
How to thrive in this role?
  • You have a minimum of 5 or more years of practical mechanical design experience in aviation.
  • You have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent (highly preferred).
  • You must be proficient in creating mechanical drawings using both 2D and 3D drafting/modeling software (AutoCad, CATIA, NX).
  • You must be a self-starter and able to handle multiple initiatives effectively.
  • You must exhibit excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • You must effectively communicate design intent and design resolution.
  • You have a working knowledge of applicable regulatory certification rules (FAA, EASA, TCCA).
  • You have a working knowledge of electrical wiring diagrams and wire routings.
  • You are proficient with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).
  • You should be an organized individual, able to work effectively with a variety of cross-functional individuals, departments, and organizations while maintaining a good attitude and professional disposition.
