Job summary

Bombardier Learjet Inc. in Tucson, AZ is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to prepare documents for aircraft modifications, coordinate with suppliers and regulators, and ensure design compliance across avionic systems.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 0–2 years of relevant experience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, utilize AutoCAD for electrical drawings, and apply knowledge of cabin management systems and regulatory rules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 0–2 years of avionics/electrical installation experience.
  • Experience creating electrical drawings in AutoCAD preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Cabin Management Systems preferred.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare documents to support modification of Bombardier aircraft.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, internal teams, and regulators on design and certification.
  • Research specifications and ensure component compliance.
  • Assist service center with investigation and resolution of build/test issues.
  • Collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team.

What are your contributions to the team?
  • You will prepare all necessary documents to support the modification of Bombardier aircraft such as wire diagrams, functional test plans and reports, technical requirement documents, electrical load analysis and design compliance reports.
  • Extensive coordination with outside suppliers, internal departments and regulatory agencies regarding the design, installation, integration, testing and certification of avionics and entertainment systems on all Bombardier platforms.
  • Research specification for component selection. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure specifications are met.
  • Assist service center personnel in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolution of build/modification and test issues
  • Work in a team environment
How to thrive in this role?
  • You have a minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience of practical avionics/electrical system installations, testing, or integration experience in aviation.
  • You have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent degree (highly preferred).
  • You are proficient creating electrical drawings using AutoCad (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Cabin Management Systems (preferred).
  • You will have a working knowledge of applicable regulatory certification rules (FAA, EASA, TCCA).You will be proficient with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
  • You have a working knowledge of electrical, avionics, and wire harness design guidelines for CFR Part 25 aircraft is preferred.
  • You must be a self-starter and able to handle multiple initiatives effectively.
  • You must exhibit excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • You should be an organized individual, able to work effectively with a variety of cross-functional individuals, departments and organizations with a general good attitude and disposition.
