Job summary

Bombardier Learjet Tucson is seeking a contract Mechanical Designer Engineer to join the team. You will prepare interior and structural modification drawings, support certification, coordinate with suppliers and regulatory agencies, and assist bids and service issues.

Requires a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (5 years) or 10 years of practical design experience, with AutoCAD or CATIA proficiency and knowledge of FAA/EASA/TCCA rules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with five (5) years relevant experience or ten (10) years of practical mechanical design in aviation.
• Proficient creating mechanical drawings using AutoCAD or CATIA (preferred).
• Working knowledge of FAA, EASA, TCCA regulatory certification rules.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Self-starter, able to manage multiple initiatives and timelines.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare documents supporting interior and structural modification drawings, specifications and substantiation reports.
• Coordinate with suppliers, internal departments and regulators on design, installation, integration and certification.
• Research specifications for component selection and ensure compliance with requirements.
• Support statement of work creation and bids for new customer requests.
• Assist service center with investigate, troubleshoot and resolve build/modification and test issues; create deviation drawings as needed.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment.

What are your contributions to the team?

I n your role, you will:

• Prepare all necessary documents to support the interior and structural modification of Bombardier aircraft such as detail, assembly and installation drawings, specification documents and substantiation reports.


• Coordinate with outside suppliers, internal departments and regulatory agencies regarding the design, installation, integration, and certification of new interior components to support floorplan modifications.


• Research specification for component selection. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure specifications are met.


• Support statement of work creation and bids for new customer requests.


• Assist service center personnel in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolution of build/modification and test issues and create deviation drawings as required.

• You will hold a Bachelor of Science Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with five (5) years relevant experience or will have a minimum of ten (10) years of practical mechanical design experience in aviation.


• You are proficient creating mechanical drawings using AutoCad or CATIA (preferred)


• You will have a working knowledge of applicable regulatory certification rules (FAA, EASA, TCCA).


• You will be proficient with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
