Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Tucson, USA seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to support interior and structural modifications of Learjet aircraft. You will prepare drawings, specifications, and substantiation reports, collaborating with suppliers, internal teams, and regulatory agencies to ensure design, installation, integration, and certification meet requirements.

The role requires a B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, proficiency with AutoCAD or CATIA, and strong MS Office

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficiency in mechanical drawing using AutoCAD or CATIA (preferred).
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Organized and able to work with cross-functional teams.
• Self-starter capable of handling multiple initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all necessary documents to support interior and structural modification of Bombardier aircraft such as detail, assembly and installation drawings, specification documents and substantiation reports.
• Coordinate with outside suppliers, internal departments and regulatory agencies regarding the design, installation, integration, and certification of new interior components to support floorplan modifications.
• Research specification for component selection. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure specifications are met.
• Support statement of work creation and bids for new customer requests.
• Assist service center personnel in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolution of build/modification and test issues and create deviation drawings as required.

How to thrive in this role?
