Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer to support large-scale energy infrastructure projects in the field. You will oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, coordinating with engineering, construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure safety, quality, and on-schedule progress.

The role requires at least 2 years of industrial construction experience, piping work, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of field engineering, construction engineering, or mechanical construction experience at the industrial level.
• Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Support the installation and construction of mechanical systems including piping, pumps, valves, boilers, turbines, heat exchangers, and balance-of-plant equipment.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and engineering documentation to support field execution.
• Coordinate daily activities with superintendents, subcontractors, and craft personnel to ensure work progresses according to schedule.
• Assist with RFIs, field change requests, and resolution of design conflicts.
• Verify field measurements, equipment alignment, and installation quality.
• Track material deliveries, equipment status, and construction progress.
• Participate in mechanical inspections, punch walks, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain accurate field reports, redlines, turnover documentation, and project records.
• Ensure compliance with project safety requirements, quality standards, and applicable industry codes.
• Attend construction coordination meetings and provide progress updates to project stakeholders.
