We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fabrication Technician with strong mechanical aptitude and welding experience to join our team. This role will involve a combination of fabrication, mechanical repairs, equipment maintenance, and field service work. Candidates should be comfortable working both in a shop environment and at customer sites, performing repairs and modifications on industrial equipment, including overhead cranes and related systems.
Perform MIG and Stick welding on structural steel, equipment, and industrial components.
Fabricate, modify, and repair parts using blueprints, drawings, and measurements.
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on cranes and industrial equipment.
Assist with crane installations, repairs, inspections, and rebuild projects.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Travel to customer facilities as needed to perform field service repairs.
Experience in fabrication, including MIG and Stick welding.
Understanding of mechanical maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Willingness to travel.
Experience with crane repair and maintenance.
Comfort with working at heights and using boom or scissor lifts.

The work environment includes several 'nested' sites within large manufacturing companies. Day shifts run from approximately 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Although the broader environment is a large manufacturing setting, the team will consist of up to five employees within the plant. This position requires working at heights, often utilizing boom or scissor lifts, with a focus on safety. The environment is clean, and technicians will be the face of the company in front of clients. Navigating the facility will be necessary as there are up to 500 cranes at certain customer sites.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
