Job summary

Spire Solutions in Des Moines, IA is seeking an Estimator II – Mechanical to support the estimating team by preparing portions of mechanical estimates for construction projects.

You will perform quantity surveying, pricing, bid solicitation, and cost analysis, with a focus on accuracy and timely delivery, on projects linked to The Weitz Company. This role offers growth in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry.
• Experience with mechanical estimates is highly preferred.
• Degree in a construction-related field is desired.

Responsibilities

• Read and analyze technical plans/specifications and assist team by incorporating those requirements in the estimate
• Produce reliable, complete, consistent, well-documented, and timely quantity surveys of assigned items
• Generate design development estimates, providing quantities and components based on incomplete plans and specifications
• Assist in the development of complete project quantities based upon schematic level plans and elevations
• Conduct organized sub and vendor solicitation while accurately communicating the required scope of work
• Prepare the final estimate for rollover to the job cost accounting system, adjusted to meet project team's needs for cost management
