Spire Solutions, a subsidiary of The Weitz Company, seeks an Estimator II – Electrical in Des Moines, Iowa. You will read plans, develop estimates, and prepare bid-ready documents, ensuring complete trade coverage and timely submissions.

The role requires 2+ years estimating experience in construction, strong analytical and math skills, and proficiency with MS Office; Procore/Bluebeam are a plus. This is a full-time on-site position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years estimating experience in the construction industry.
• Experience with electrical estimates is highly preferred.
• Degree in a construction-related field is desired.

Responsibilities

• Read and analyze technical plans/specifications and assist team by incorporating those requirements in the estimate.
• Produce reliable, complete, consistent, well-documented, and timely quantity surveys of assigned items.
• Generate design development estimates based on incomplete plans and specifications.
• Assist in the development of complete project quantities from schematic plans and elevations.
• Conduct organized sub and vendor solicitation and communicate the scope of work.
• Prepare the final estimate for rollover to the job cost system and cost management needs.
