Southland Industries is seeking a mechanical construction estimator in Texas to prepare preliminary budgets, conceptual and detailed estimates for small to mid-size projects. You will analyze drawings, perform take-offs, track quantities, and solicit subcontractor bids while coordinating with internal departments.

The role requires at least 3 years in mechanical estimating, strong cost-analysis skills, and proficiency with Excel, Word, and estimating software.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or trade school or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical construction estimating.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
• Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings.
• Knowledge of construction costs and principles.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and prorations.
• Drafting skills.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze drawings and perform material take-offs for estimates and provide unit cost pricing.
• Prepare preliminary, conceptual estimates and detail estimates for small to medium projects.
• Assist with bid package estimates and track quantities; resolve discrepancies.
• Solicit subcontractor bids and obtain quotes from vendors.
• Review RFPs and drawings to determine scope and required contents of the estimate.
• Present information and respond to questions from internal departments.
