Job summary

Solid Rock Recruiting represents an established commercial mechanical contractor seeking a Mechanical Estimator to support rising bid volume and project demand. This role focuses on reviewing plans and developing cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing and mechanical construction.

The candidate should have 2+ years in estimating within mechanical construction, with knowledge of sheet metal, ductwork or plumbing. AutoBid is a plus; training is offered for the right person.

Qualifications

• 2+ years estimating experience in commercial mechanical construction.
• Experience in HVAC, sheet metal, ductwork or plumbing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications and drawings.
• Strong analytical, mathematical and organizational skills.
• AutoBid experience is a plus; training is available.
• Stable employment history & interest in a long-term opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs and bid docs to determine project scope.
• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial HVAC, plumbing and mechanical projects.
• Perform material takeoffs and evaluate labor, equipment and material costs.
• Coordinate with vendors to obtain pricing and verify project costs.
• Identify scope gaps, risks and opportunities to improve estimate accuracy.
• Collaborate with project managers and team members throughout bidding.
• Help manage bid volume while maintaining accuracy and quality.
