Solid Rock Recruiting is partnering with a commercial mechanical contractor to hire a Mechanical Estimator focused on HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical construction. The role involves reviewing project plans, developing accurate cost estimates, coordinating pricing, and preparing competitive bids for commercial projects in the Twin Cities.

The ideal candidate has around two years of estimating experience, with consideration for more senior professionals.

Qualifications

• Prior estimating experience in commercial mechanical construction preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and mechanical drawings.
• AutoBid experience is a plus, but training is available.
• Stable employment history and an interest in a long-term opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope.
• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical construction projects.
• Perform material takeoffs and evaluate labor, equipment, and material costs.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and verify project costs.
• Identify scope gaps, potential risks, and opportunities to improve estimate accuracy.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members throughout the bidding process.
• Help manage bid volume while maintaining accuracy, quality, and attention to detail.
