Job summary

Harrison, Walker & Harper (HWH) in Paris, TX is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical construction projects, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and process systems. You will review documents, perform takeoffs, solicit pricing, and develop bid proposals in coordination with project teams.

The ideal candidate has prior experience in construction estimating, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively to identify value engineering

Qualifications

• Experience in construction estimating.
• Strong understanding of drawings, specs and contract documents.
• Proficient in quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
• Organized, detail-oriented and team-focused.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specs and contract documents to determine project scope.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, piping).
• Develop labor, material, equipment and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Solicit vendor and subcontractor quotations and evaluate them.
• Prepare bid proposals and estimate summaries.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving options.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits and project walkthroughs.
