Job summary

Jobot, based in Matthews, North Carolina, seeks an experienced Permanent Mechanical Estimator to cost out HVAC, mechanical, piping, and plumbing projects for commercial construction. The role requires analyzing drawings and specifications and using estimating software to prepare precise estimates.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of commercial estimator experience, proficiency with Onscreen Take-Off/Trimble, and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years in commercial construction estimation (HVAC, mechanical, or piping).
Experience as an Estimator or Industrial Estimator.
Proficiency in Onscreen Take-Off, Trimble Business Center, or equivalent software.
Strong understanding of orthographic drawings and technical specs.
Excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset.
Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Construction Management or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical, piping, construction projects.
Analyzing orthographic drawings and technical specifications to assess material, labor, and equipment requirements.
Using Onscreen Take-Off, Trimble Business Center, and other software for preparing estimates.
Collaborating with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors to understand project requirements and resolve issues.
Reviewing and evaluating cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Presenting estimates and conducting cost-benefit analyses for management's review.
Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and methods to enhance estimate accuracy.
Participating in bid negotiations and assisting in procurement of major equipment and subcontracts.
