Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking an experienced HVAC/Plumbing Estimator in Charlotte, NC to support the preconstruction team with accurate and competitive estimates for commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects.

The ideal candidate will price HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems, analyze project documents, and help secure profitable work while coordinating with PMs, operations, and leadership. A strong grasp of drawings, specs, and estimating software is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in mechanical construction.
• Experience estimating HVAC, plumbing, process piping, or sheet metal systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, and piping projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and material pricing.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotations.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
• Develop conceptual and detailed estimates for design-build and plan-spec projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and leadership during bid reviews.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
• Prepare bid proposals and supporting documentation.
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost records.
• Analyze project risks and pricing strategies.
• Support project handoffs after awards.
