Job summary

Excel Group in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator to join our corporate office. You will prepare Lump Sum, T&M, and unit-price estimates for bidding projects and develop accurate estimates for multiple concurrent jobs.

Responsibilities include analyzing plans and specifications, consulting with clients and vendors, and coordinating with project managers to ensure estimates are thorough and on budget. Strong reading of drawings and cost-voicing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience in mechanical estimation within an industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of industrial construction methods.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Prepare estimates including equipment needs, labor costs, and materials.
• Conduct regular project reviews and prepare reports to ensure projects remain within budget and on schedule.
• Cost estimating with MEP.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
• Stay updated with industry trends and changes to ensure accurate cost predictions.

Excel is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team at the corporate office in Baton Rouge, LA. The successful candidate will be responsible for incorporating knowledge of client specifications, and other documentation to prepare Lump sum, T&M, and unit price cost estimates for bidding projects. Candidate must be able to develop accurate estimates for multiple, coinciding projects. This position also requires strong persuasive and organizational skills to assist in client presentations.
