Job summary

Excel Group in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical and Instrumentation Estimator to prepare Lump sum, T&M, and unit price estimates for bids. You will analyze plans, specs, and docs to develop accurate estimates for multiple projects.

Collaborating with clients, vendors, and project teams, you’ll refine estimates, monitor budgets, and support client presentations. A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and E&I estimation experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
• Experience in E&I estimation within an industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of industrial construction methods.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Prepare estimates including equipment needs, labor costs, and materials.
• Conduct regular project reviews and prepare reports to ensure projects remain within budget and on schedule.
• Cost estimating with MEP.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
• Stay updated with industry trends and changes to ensure accurate cost predictions.

Excel is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Estimator to join our team at the corporate office in Baton Rouge, LA. The successful candidate will be responsible for incorporating knowledge of client specifications, and other documentation to prepare Lump sum, T&M, and unit price cost estimates for bidding projects. Candidate must be able to develop accurate estimates for multiple, coinciding projects. This position also requires strong persuasive and organizational skills to assist in client presentations.
