Job summary

RIMEPRO INC is seeking experienced HVAC and Plumbing Estimators to support its expanding preconstruction team in California. The role focuses on preparing detailed estimates for commercial projects, including healthcare, industrial, and institutional sectors, while collaborating with preconstruction and operations teams.

The position requires at least 5+ years in commercial estimating for mechanical contractors or subs, with strong takeoff, budgeting, and bid-management skills.

Qualifications

• Commercial HVAC and/or plumbing estimating experience.
• Ability to perform detailed takeoffs and develop labor/material estimates.
• Familiarity with design-build/design-assist/plan-and-spec projects.
• Strong Excel skills and bid management across multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

Summary

We're partnering with a well-established, employee-owned mechanical contractor that is expanding its preconstruction team. The company delivers large-scale commercial, healthcare, industrial, and institutional projects and is seeking experienced HVAC and Plumbing Estimators to support upcoming work.

This opportunity is suited for an estimator with a commercial mechanical contracting background who enjoys working on complex projects, developing competitive bids, and collaborating with preconstruction and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed HVAC and/or plumbing estimates for commercial construction projects
• Perform material and labor takeoffs, cost analysis, and conceptual budgeting
• Manage estimating and bidding from initial review through final proposal
• Develop estimates for design-build, design-assist, and plan-and-spec projects
• Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks to evaluate project scope
• Review drawings, specifications, subcontractor pricing, and bid documents
• Identify value engineering opportunities and potential cost savings
• Coordinate with preconstruction leadership, project managers, and field teams
• Review contract scopes, price change bulletins, and assist with project budgets and schedules of values

Requirements

• Commercial HVAC and/or plumbing estimating experience; 5+ years strongly preferred
• Experience estimating for a mechanical contractor or specialty subcontractor
• Ability to perform detailed takeoffs and develop accurate labor and material estimates
• Familiarity with design-build, design-assist, and plan-and-spec projects
• Experience with estimating software and digital takeoff tools; Trimble AutoBid preferred
• Experience with healthcare, high-rise, industrial, laboratory, institutional, or other complex commercial projects is a plus
• Strong Excel skills and ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
