Job summary

Bechtel Manufacturing and Technology seeks a mechanical engineer to conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for project mechanicals.

You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes, collaborating with engineering, procurement, construction, and EH&S to deliver compliant, safe, and cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5–8 years of relevant experience, or 9–12 years overall.
• Professional license in a recognized board is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering systems and calculations (CFD, HAR, energy efficiency for data centers).
• Experience with chiller packages, HVAC equipment, pumps, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
• Experience with data center cooling systems, cooling architecture, chilled water, CDU and CRAH/CRAC units.

Responsibilities

• Prepares or approves mechanical engineering project procedures on a project.
• Collaborates with the Project Engineering Manager, Procurement, Construction, ES&H, and Project Controls.
• Reviews and approves mechanical engineering design documents and material requisitions.
• Addresses and resolves field or jobsite mechanical issues.
• Communicates complex technical matters and provides recommendations to clients and management.
