Job summary

Veeco Instruments Inc. is seeking a Manager of Mechanical Engineering in Horsham, PA, to lead the design and delivery of wet process wafer equipment for advanced semiconductor manufacturing.

You will own end-to-end mechanical systems, ensuring safety and precise delivery of chemistries while accelerating time-to-market and product quality. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience; or 6+ years with a Master's degree is required.
• 3+ years of people management experience with direct reports is also required.
• Experience leading or directly contributing to the design of sophisticated capital equipment is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing Mechanical Engineering team, including direct reports, contractors, and external partners.
• Own mechanical engineering of complex inter-chamber process chemistry delivery and automation, wafer tooling, and structural frames across the full product lifecycle.
• Ensure designs meet performance, cost, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver programs on schedule and within budget while managing risks and engineering changes.
• Partner with Process, Electrical, Software, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Service teams to ensure designs meet specifications, quality and delivery commitments.
• Continuously improve engineering processes, documentation, and workflows.
• Provide senior technical escalation support for released products.
