Job summary

Veeco Instruments Inc. seeks a Process Development Engineer to join our Horsham, PA team. This hands-on role focuses on semiconductor processing, MEMS-like tasks, and wet process equipment.

You will work closely with internal and external customers to drive process demonstrations and data-driven improvements. The ideal candidate has strong lab skills, experience with process tools, and the ability to troubleshoot electro/mechanical issues while traveling up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or related field with 5+ years of experience; or a Master's with 3+ years; or a PhD.
• Engineering-focused or related degree required for the position.
• Advanced degrees encouraged; hands-on aptitude and practical experience are essential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Set up and clean up demonstrations, develop DOE, run experiments, and summarize results in customer reports.
• Define project requirements and perform experiments to gather data.
• Operate state-of-the-art process equipment to demonstrate processes.
• Learn and use PSP software to execute tests.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary Engineering team.
• Improve tool understanding by writing test plans and presenting data.
