Job summary

Teledyne Microwave Solutions is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design engineer to architect and drive high‑reliability RF hardware from concept to production. You will lead a team, set standards, and collaborate with cross‑functional partners to deliver rugged hardware for aerospace and defense applications.

The role requires 15+ years of mechanical design experience, strong CAD and analysis skills, and a background in RF or electronics packaging. U.S. citizenship and security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Candidates must show strong leadership and communication skills.
• Deep mechanical design expertise for high‑reliability hardware.
• Experience leading products from design into production.
• RF, microwave, or electronics packaging background is a plus.
• Experience with mechanical analysis and CAD tools required.
• 15+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team responsible for mechanical design, CAD, and document control.
• Guide mechanical design of complex microwave assemblies from concept through production.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to transition new products into manufacturing.
• Set technical direction, standards, and best practices.
• Review designs and risks with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Drive cost, performance, reliability, and manufacturability improvements.
• Support proposal development and early-stage concept design.
• Mentor engineers and assist with hiring and development.
